Take your life off hold
Cox Voice equipment
To get the best service, you'll need the right equipment.
To use all Cox Voice features, you’ll need a phone handset that runs on DECT 6.0 digital technology and supports features like Caller ID and Call Waiting.
DECT 6.0 technology comes with other perks, like:
It's smart to check the battery status of your telephone equipment on a regular basis. There's a battery indicator light on the front of your modem. You can see what the light is saying about your battery here.
Backup batteries can provide up to eight hours of standby service or up to four hours of talk time using a corded telephone that doesn't need power and is directly connected to the modem's jack.
In an outage, your corded phone will work using your backup battery, but cordless phones require an additional power source, which is why we recommend keeping a corded phone around to use whenever you lose power. Also, make sure you keep non-emergency calls to a minimum during a power outage to prolong the life of your battery. Get more information here.
